The North

Swedish Lapland is a place of many contrasts, where the summer sun floods a magnificent landscape 24 hours a day, and the dark blue sky of winter is illuminated by the sazzling Northern Lights.
In the sparsley populated area by the artctic circle distance is turned to an advantage. It offers vast natural resources where mines, forests and rivers make this an attractive region to invest in. It also fosters cutting edge companies recognized world wide.

Environmentally friendly fuel at Solander Science Park is developed from waste from the wood and pulp industry. Moreover, the region is about to develop an enormous wind mill park with over a thousand units.

Large distances have forced the region to successfully develop and use e-health as future independent healthcare and another example of unique innovation and entrepreneurship is the ICEHOTEL - the world famous brand made from crystal clear ice - drawing visitors from all over the world.

In Kiruna, the world's largest iron ore has kept company LKAB busy for over 100 years, producing high quality iron for the world market.
Now the town is undergoing a unique challange as it has to be moved to allow for the mining to continue.

Capitalizing on 50 years experience as a space city and European launch site, Kiruna is now taking a lead in the development of the second space age. Spaceport Sweden is being established aiming to offer commercial human spaceflights within a few years time.

In Luleå, Swedens northernmost university has earned a genuine track record from successful collaboration with business and industry and has the ambition to develop a worldclass profile in research and education related to innovation and entreprenenurship.

North Swedens Design Concept is created by Designlabland, a strategic platform for young entrepreneurs within the creative field.

The South

Skåne in southern Sweden has a lot to offer; successful international companies such as Tetra Pak, Sony-Ericsson and Gambro, World class universities and research centres, attractive historic cities and beautiful unspoiled countryside and clean sandy shores - all just 20 minutes from Copenhagen International Airport.

This idyllic and dynamic region is set to experience a further bost. The ancient university town of Lund has been chosen for the construction of ESS (European Spallation Source) and MAX IV, two world leading facilities for advanced materials science. These important new facilities will attract over 5000 researchers from around the world annually and will generate countless opportunities for growth in the region.

The East

The technology is here. The talent is waiting. The atmosphere is open and tolerant. As one of the most knowledge-intensive and innovative regions in the world, Stockholm has an impressive track record as a leading supplier of innovative solutions and products. Key sectors are Life Science, ICT, Cleantech, Financial Services and Automation. The Stockholm region is diverse, innovative and globally connected.

Stockholm is Scandinavia's leading life-science cluster. A new city area for life science is being built by Karolinska Institute and Norra Station. Kista is a well known hotspot for ICT innovation. Stockholm Royal Seaport is a development area with a specific environmental profile and cutting edge climate friendly solutions. With the development of Telefonplan, by the formaer headquarters of telecom giant Ericsson, Stockholm wants to play in the top league of the creative industry. The West

Automotive excellence.Traditionally the automotive industry has been strong in the region, with global brands such as Volvo and Saab. That's why we are exceptionally proud to present Lindholmen Science Park, a unique demonstration and test arena that supports the development of sustainable transport systems.

Gaming on the rise. Another growing industry can be found in Gothia Science Park, where some of the best game developers in the world are working. They are supported by research, education, incubation and development studios, all housed side by side.

Fabrics of the future. Smart and technical textiles is another new business, transforming from the traditional textile industry.
