Submission guidelines (abstract)

Academic paper abstracts
An academic paper abstracts should contain at most 1200 words. It should include information on:
- problem formulation
- methods
- results or expected results in brief
- stating the originality of the research

Since a blind review process will be employed, no specific information of the author(s) should be included in the abstract.

Workshop proposals
Topics will be discussed in workshops. There will be a workshop leader and two or more experts in the field presenting the topic. The main focus should be on dialogue between the works shop participants.
 
Work shop proposals should state:
- the topic or theme of the work shop as well as objectives sought
- purpose of the session
- benefits for participants
- intended audience

Workshop proposals should also state:
- the name of the leader of the workshop
- the names of the contributors (two or more experts in the field)
- the organizational affiliations of the contributors and the leader
- presenter expertise
- the format or procedures to be followed in meeting the objectives of the workshop

Submissions should contain at most 1200 words. All abstract submissions for Workshops must include a description in the prefix of the title (i.e. WORKSHOP: Title).

Poster proposals
The ICSB 2011 World Conference Poster Sessions will be held for the first time at this year´s annual conference in Stockholm, Sweden. This year, poster sessions will occur on Thursday, June 16 and Friday, June 17. Time slots TBD.

Poster sessions are an effective forum for the exchange of information and a means to communicate ideas, research, and programs. Poster sessions may present any of the following:
- a description of an innovative program
- an analysis of a practical problem-solving effort
- a report of a research study

Format of poster session proposals follows that of normal extended abstract submissions.

Poster sessions are not for product advertisements, vendor displays, etc.  If you are unsure if your proposal qualifies, please e-mail Michael Battaglia, Chair of the poster sessions (icsb@gwu.edu)

Poster session participants place materials such as pictures, data, graphs, diagrams and narrative text on boards that are usually 4' x 8' (dimensions vary slightly by Convention Center). During their assigned time periods, participants informally discuss their presentations with conference attendees.

Timeline:
- A call for poster proposals issued on Nov. 15, 2010.
- Poster session proposals will be due by Jan. 15, 2011.
- Authors will be notified of acceptance on or before Feb. 15, 2011.
Authors of poster proposals will not be required to submit a final, complete paper.

Before submitting, please read the submission guidelines:

  1. All submissions are encouraged to show a link to the theme of the conference “Back to the Future — Changes in Perspectives of Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation" as well as relevance to the four pillars of ICSB - Policy Makers, Practitioners, Educators, and Researchers.
  2. All submissions must be original and must not be under concurrent consideration or scheduled for presentation elsewhere.
  3. All submissions must be in English.
  4. Submissions should not exceed the maximum limit of 1200 words. Please use double-spacing, Times Roman size 12 font.
  5. All submissions must be in one of the following document formats; Adobe PDF (.pdf), Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), or Rich Text (rtf).
  6. All abstracts must be submitted through the online abstract submission system. An acknowledgment letter via email will be sent to you once you have successfully submitted your abstract.
  7. ICSB 2011 is running a double-blind review process. In preparing your manuscript, do not include any information which could reveal your identity, or that of your co-authors. The title section of your manuscript should not contain any author names, email addresses, or affiliation status. If you do include any author names on the title page, your submission will be automatically rejected. In the body of your submission, you should eliminate all direct references to your own previous work. Also, please do not disproportionately cite your own previous work. We need your cooperation in our effort to maintain a fair, double-blind reviewing process - and to consider all submissions equally.
  8. Please note that authors of abstracts accepted for presentation MUST be registered delegates. Please note that all delegates, including those of you who will have papers accepted, have to register to the conference on the Registration web site (due to open mid January 2011). We would also urge you to pass this information on to your co-authors.
